Mega chuffed to say that Johny Lamb AKA Thirty Pounds of Bone, proud member of the Armellodie roster has won the Artist Commission for Lone Twin’s Boat Project.
The Boat Project is part of Artists Taking the Lead, a series of 12 public art commissions across the UK to celebrate the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad.
The Boat Project is the winning commission for the South East region and is funded by Arts Council England. The Boat Project is a living archive of people’s stories and lives, a 30ft seafaring vessel made from donated wooden items. Thirty Pounds of Bone will be making The Ship’s Log. His task is to be a working member of the crew for the duration of the Boat’s maiden voyage and for each place the boat stops, write, record and produce a song that chronicles the events of the voyage.
Along with this, Johny will be collaborating with local musicians at each port and performing live with them as part of the boat’s visit. For more info visit theboatproject.com.
