Johny Lamb aka Thirty Pounds of Bone’s final installment of The Ship’s Log is available now. ‘The Milton Keynes Land Shanty (I Am In The Glass Of The Wall)’ brings a closing to the adventure.
The full set of voyage songs was performed for the first time by Thirty Pounds Of Bone, featuring main man Johny Lamb and guests Peter Hemsley (drums), Lucy Parnell (harmonium and vocals) and Jen Macro (guitar and vocals) as part of the Milton Keynes International Festival.
"This song is the final entry for the Ship’s log of Collective Spirit’s Maiden Voyage. It documents the boat’s trip over the road from Gravesend and her installation into Queens Court in the Central MK shopping centre. It also documents the songwriter’s experience in Milton Keynes, confrontations with his own reflection, loneliness of being without the crew in an urban landscape, the warmth of the people visiting the boat and absynthe zombies in caribbean themed restaurants."
You can download the song for absolutely free HERE.
The Ship’s Log was written and produced by Thirty Pounds of Bone and is part of Lone Twin’s ‘The Boat Project.’ It documents the events and experiences of the boat’s maiden voyage.
The Boat Project is part of Artists Taking the Lead, a series of 12 public art commissions across the UK to celebrate the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad. The Boat Project is funded by Arts Council England.
We hope you’ve enjoyed these recordings as much as we here at Armellodie Hq have, big props to the whole squad at the Boat Project, and a final hats off to this sexy beast…
